12 months::Moxie

A final monthly installment. Posted for posterity sake at almost one month past its due date.

So many milestones reached, so many memories made.

At 12 months old Moxie is:

Weighing 21 pounds and measuring 30 inches tall.
Wearing size 12 months or 18 months clothes.
Wearing size 4 diaper during the day and size 5 at night.
Has bigger feet than Scout or Cutter did, a solid size 4-5 now.
Took a few steps prior to her first birthday, and on the day before her birthday decided that she had this in the bag and hasn’t stopped walking around since.
Has 5 teeth now, and is working on more. I’m sure of it.

Eating

Moxie has been on whole milk for two months now, and is now taking a bottle in the morning, after nap, and at bedtime. Occasionally I will give her a bottle with lunch, but for now the after nap bottle is the preference. She’s been using a Camelbak easily for two months now and she drinks water from that during the day. Food wise – she will eat everything that we give to her. She has had citrus, blueberries, strawberries, peanut butter, corn on the cob; really there is nothing that she hasn’t appreciated.

Sleeping

She is still waking for the day between 8 and 9 am, I will wake her if we have to be somewhere any earlier. Taking one nap a day from 12:30 until 4 pm. Getting a bath at 6:30 and going down for the night around 6:45 pm. She will only wake up at night if she is uncomfortable, sick, or teething. Unfortunately there was a lot of that the past few weeks (January germs are the worst).

We celebrated her first birthday with a small celebration of family and friends the weekend prior to her big day. That post is forthcoming. On her actual day we had leftover cupcakes, sang a rousing, much-lower-pitched, rendition of Happy Birthday to which she swayed and smiled and enjoyed every blessed second of attention.

She got her final birthday present from her Mimi & Bampie, of which, her brother and sister have absconded with and used to their endless delight.

And just like that, she's one.
