Outer Banks Holiday: Part Two
My son has a love affair with water and he is not prejudiced, all varieties are loved equally – salt, chlorine, or fresh. I could not get over what a veritable fish this little babe was all week long! At first we had him in his float in the pool, but he quickly tired of that and begged (read: screamed) to be let in the pool. Steve carried him around and literally the minute his appendages hit the water, he instinctively began to paddle. This child undeniably loves to swim. He would splash and swim for hours if we had let him (I was a good mommy and kept him out of the sun as much as we could). He tolerated the sun hat for half a day which was a success in my book. The sunglasses that once were esteemed were pool fodder almost immediately.
We did not get to the beach as much as we would have liked but when we did, Steve took Cutter in the water with him and I didn’t think that either of them were ever going to come out. Wave after wave came barreling ashore but Cutter sat mesmerized all the same enjoying each ebb and tide. I was quite happily astonished. He has always shown an affinity for water, but I was impressed with his stamina. Having a baby who loves the water is such a blessing, and made my week of vacation that much more enjoyable.

So, I love the pictures of Cutter diving into the surf! So sweet. P.S. Is that the Lilly suit we both own in a previous blog entry? Isn't it the best!
You better believe it, Melissa :-)
