Snowflakes and Hot Chocolate

Over the weekend we had a rather large snowstorm blow through the northeast. All forecasts were calling for large amounts of snowfall, but I must admit it becomes hard to believe them when they are always making such big deals about any sort of precipitation just for drama's sake.
Needless to say, I was overwhelmingly proven wrong, and here in Malvern we received around 14" of snow, while Philadelphia officially received 23" of snow - the second largest snowfall in the city's history.

Thankfully, we really didn't have anywhere to go as my family's Christmas celebrations had already been postponed to the following weekend. We had the chance to play with the dogs in the snow, drink hot chocolate with oodles of redi-whip, and play a rambunctious round of hearts with my grandfather (who shot the moon successfully? - oh right, ME!). Church was even cancelled on Sunday morning, and so we were able to enjoy the freshly fallen snow with sun shining on it and all, without any concerns of getting anywhere.
The weather has been cold enough that I'm hopeful the snow will remain for Christmas Day to celebrate a White Christmas!
