We finally gained
some momentum on the upstairs projects after garnering some free weekends. It’s
amazing what can be accomplished when you are actually home to accomplish it. That's my profound truth for the month.
The workroom is
complete as far as renovations go. The hard work has been done by my judicious and
industrious husband - whose will towards constructive perfection is uncanny - and
now it’s up to me to bring in the furniture, decorate, accessorize and thus
utilize.
The bookshelves were finished with a simple trim detail and painted white. The addition of those to the room finishes it in a way I didn’t expect and absolutely adore.

We had decided
to go with the plywood treatment for the floor and I am in love with how
it turned out. Both economical and aesthetically pleasing, I was enamored from
the start. There was no floor prior, and so Steve laid the plywood and added
the baseboard around the room. He sealed it with a few protective coats, and
then we finished off the area with a natural rug.
We spent the
better part of the night going through all of the things that had been
temporarily and haphazardly tossed to the side to deal with at some later
point. Later became now and it felt good to check such a large item off of our
to-do list, especially before baby arrives.
Here’s your
before so you can remember how far we've come with some very simple updates.
Such a breath of fresh air.
