Seriously? Am I writing a three month post - already?
Here goes...
At 3 months Cutter is:
*wearing size 3-6 clothes
*still in size 1 diapers and wearing size 2 at night
*sleeping at night from 7-9 hours
*nursing every 2 1/2-3 hours during the day
*still rolling over from tummy to back - his version of getting out of tummy time
*loving his playmat
*saying "i" "o" "u"
*smiling, smiling, smiling
*discovering his hands and can't get keep them out of his mouth
*demanding to be held (baby bjorn to the rescue)
It amazes me how much he has changed in these three short months. Not knowing much about babies I had no idea when they would start to develop a personality, smile, talk, sleep longer....
He has surprised me every time and I love it. I love that he does have his own personality and that he can recognize both his Daddy and I by the sound of our voice - how cool is that? I love when he talks to me and copies what we are saying to him. It reminds me of how careful I have to be with my choice of words. It has been hard for me to adjust to the sometimes daily changes in schedule as I am an admitted OCD organized/schedule-freak, but at the same time it is a reminder of how I need to be more flexible and receptive to his needs - God knew what he was doing in creating this child! Telling me to take a chill pill and relax and enjoy him, that's what!
He is still swaddled to sleep which we are desparately trying to wean him off of. He is going to sleep around 7 or 8 o'clock at night and sleeping until 3 or 4 am. I've tried to get him to go to sleep later, but he seems to thrive best on the earlier bedtime. He will nap during the day for about an hour to an hour and a half at the most - it's a lucky day if we get a two hour nap in. I am still avoiding dairy and hope to re-introduce it again in a few weeks to see how he fares with it. Hopefully he will be okay and I can slowly start having dairy in my diet again. It is just about killing me that I haven't had any dairy since he was 2 weeks old - milk is such a staple of my diet. I've switched to almond milk but it is just not the same.
