In college I was introduced to many philanthropic endeavors, and happily involved myself in any way possible with many of them. One in particular that was started when I was in my junior year of college is the Go Red for Women campaign through the American Heart Association. This initiative was started as a way to bring awareness to the fact that heart disease is the number one killer of women, even above cancer.
This Friday you can help bring awareness to this fact by participating in
Wear Red Day. Show off your favorite scarf, dress, shirt, lipstick, purse – you name it – wear red to help support the fight against heart disease in women. You can always find out more information at their website,
here. The red dress pin is my personal favorite.
