Family: Exhibit A

For those that know me well, it comes as no surprise that I have had a long love affair with all things Martha Stewart. When I became engaged, that affair extended to her wedding blog and magazine edited by none other than the Darcy Miller. I completely envy her style and most of all, her great love for capturing family memories. Her name also enthralled me having a dear friend from college with the same, and having never heard it prior to meeting her. I read an article a while back that highlighted her scrapbooking - specifically her wedding album, and I instantly connected with her on that level. Scrapbooking or memory keeping is a big deal to me, and I love to see different media and depictions of ways to document those memories.

My February issue of Martha came in the mail today (oh happy day!) and when browsing through I came across a feature article on Darcy's recent gallery exhibit entitled quite simply, "Family." I am in love with this exhibit! Not only does it appeal to my crafty and creative side, but also to my sentimental side. Family is arguably one of the most important things in my life and has always been that way. I love the fusion of the two that she has displayed. Even better, marthastewart.com has links up that enable you to download some of Darcy's clip art that she has used for her own scrapbooks. This is giving me loads of ideas for how to best document the first years of our baby's life, as well as play catch up to some of our more recent memories that need to be documented. Perfect timing, Martha, as usual.
