We had a great weekend!
Friday night we went to my sister's place for dinner with her husband and had chinese. I haven't had chinese in a long time and it was just perfect. It was still raining Friday night and there were so many limbs down - the storm that came through Friday wasn't debilitating, but it was annoying!
Saturday we celebrated my cousin in-law's birthday with all of my husband's family and were able to get outside and enjoy the fresh air. All of the rain and overcast days were really starting to get on my nerves. What happened to the end of summer? After the birthday celebration we drove into the city to have dinner with two of my college friends and their significant others. Getting into the city is always such a ridiculous drive -- things just slow to a crawl and it becomes unbearably boring! But good company and great food made up for that! My friend, Darcy's boyfriend is an amazing chef and he cooked up a delicious pork taco medley for us all to enjoy. We had such a great time catching up with each other and reminiscing about college. It was hard for all of us to believe that this spring will be five years since we have graduated! I am not sure where all the time has gone, in truth. Getting home was a breeze (as it usually is).
Thank God the sun was shining on Sunday morning! A perfect day to soak up more sunshine and then we were able to top off the weekend with an overwhelming Eagles victory! The game started off a little lopsided but the Eagles quickly turned that around and cemented their first win of the year. I nearly lost my cool when Donovan was pummeled and ended up breaking his rib, but I have faith he will return just as good as ever. Next week we face the Saints at home and I am looking forward to making the season 2-0.
We had a busy weekend but we were able to see so many people and re-connect that it made up for all the traveling and running around.
I am so bad at taking pictures anymore. I think it has to do with the fact that I hate our digital and am just counting down the days until we can get a new one! Here is the one picture that we took - the baby bump at 18 weeks.
