Show Me Your Life

A lot of the blogs that I follow do a special Friday event, and this Friday happens to be Show Me Your Wedding Dress via Kelly's Korner. How perfect! I loved my wedding dress and am more than happy to show off some pictures.
This picture is of me and my husband. We were married in the church that I grew up in and my parents were also married. The dress was a strapless, white gown with beading on the bodice and around the hem. The back also had some great beading detail leading down the train. When I went to the bridal shop, The Wedding Touch, I had decided I did not want a strapless gown since everyone was wearing strapless, only to find when I put this dress on - well you brides know how it goes - I was smitten.

Here is a great picture of the train. The best part of the gown! I felt like a princess in this gown and when I saw my husband's face when I walked down the aisle I knew that I had made the right choice. The beading on the train was absolutely breathtaking and the edge of the veil played off of that perfectly. This picture was taken to match a picture that my grandmother had from her wedding. Unfortunately I don't have it on this computer (alas that belongs to laptop #1 which met his demise last fall) to compare, but you can trust me when I say they are the same. I still haven't done it, but the idea was to frame them side by side. Maybe I will get to that project now.The favorite part of my dress that sold me on it was the train - I fell in love with it the instant the bridal shop attendant poofed it and laid it out behind me. I also had the cathedral length veil to match the train and loved it. Even though we only got more married a mere two years ago (!) I probably would pick a different dress now. I loved the dress that I had, but it would be fun to choose a different style. I think I would pick a more form-fitting dress rather than the cinderella ball gown. I still love all of the pictures and am thankful that we have them all on a DVD (all 1500 of them)!

Next week is wedding party and flowers so I can show off my girls next week.
