Baby Longenecker

I can't keep the secret any longer - I am pregnant! I've tried to keep it under wraps for as long as possible, but I just can't hold it in any longer. I want to shout it from the rooftops that I am having a baby!

I am just into my 12th week now, with a due date of February 12, 2009. We had our first ultrasound in our 8th week and as cliche as it sounds, it was such an amazing experience to see the heart beating and actually see the baby. Obviously, it makes it a much more tangible idea - rather than just feeling like I'm not quite right. It made it even more special to me that Steve and I were both able to experience it together. I was so happy he was able to be at that appointment.

Thankfully I have not had any morning sickness and am hoping that continues. In the first few weeks I was extremely tired but that seems to be disappearing day by day. Now I just can't get enough of food, any kind!

Steve and I are so happy and feel so blessed to be sharing in the life of this child. Our next appointment is in a few weeks and I am looking forward to it so that we can hear the heartbeat again. I think the best part about this experience thus far has been the joy that we get in sharing the news with our friends and family. Every time I tell someone it makes me so happy, and then when I see their reaction I get even more happy - if that is even possible! This baby already has tons of love and prayers coming its way and we wouldn't have it any other way.

My grandfather gave the baby the nickname of Itty Bitty the last time we saw him, and its kind of stuck. So usually I refer to the baby as Itty Bitty :-)

Here's to the Longenecker's!
